The first hours of the afternoon the wind reaches around 12 to 15 knots and from 4pm or 5pm starts to increase to approximately 20 knots until sunset. The direction of the thermal wind is northeast, side shore to the beach. Those side shore winds and the oceans low depth makes it perfect for beginners. At this time of the year the ocean water shines in an amazing mix of caribbean turquoise and emerald green.
Usually there is no wind during the mornings and the ocean is really calm, which gives you the possibility to relax or do some other activities like StandUp Paddle boarding on the butter flat ocean, an ecological tour to the Cienega lagoon or some yoga among others. On some days it rains while on some days it is dry and windy. Hot Days:. Some days of the year are very hot. Sun shines brightly on hot days. People like to sit under the fans or in air conditioners and cooler to keep themselves cool.
Some people go to hill stations during hot days. We like to have cold drinks, ice-creams etc. We like to wear cotton clothes to keep our bodies cool on hot days.
Cold Days:. Some days of the year are very cold. During these days, it snows at some places. The sun is not very hot on cold days. People wear woolen clothes to keep themselves warm. With little wind aloft, this often leads to calm days with very little wind at the surface. During the winter, the jet stream shifts south and as a result, winds aloft increase substantially.
In fact, jet stream winds can exceed mph at times during the cold season! Sometimes these strong winds can mix down to the surface resulting in very strong and gusty conditions. Another major factor in generating wind is the pressure gradient force, which is the difference in pressure between a high and a low.
The stronger the high pressure and the stronger the low pressure and the closer they are together, the stronger the winds. When looking at a weather map like the one below, the white lines are known as isobars lines of equal pressure.
