Programs in the more advanced Grid created by Kevin Flynn. They have a unique trait of looking exactly like their user counterpart in the real world ; however, despite their human appearance they are completely different beings than users. They live on pure energy and have circuitry all over their armor or robes, which glows in different colors which varies from program to program. A program's circuitry colors vary depending on a its beliefs or functions or, in very rare cases, emotions.
The color of a program can also dictate the circuitry color of a vehicle piloted by that program, although certain vehicles in TRON have other factors determining their color. A plethora of circuit colors, as well as bi- and even tri-colored circuit patterns, appeared on the Grid in TRON: Uprising. Programs often wore large primary circuits of one color and complimentary smaller circuits of another color. Programs occasionally changed primary circuit colors to signify changes of loyalty.
The circuit colors of some baton vehicles and weapons depended on the circuit color of the wielder. Some additional colors, and additional uses of existing colors, have appeared in media outside of the movie canon. Many of these additions can be considered non-canon. The anatomy of programs is very different from that of humans.
Skin tones in TRON can be completely monochromatic including eyes and teeth with the exception of circuitry. Their hair is usually concealed by their helmets; however, in later years more programs appear without helmets.
Programs sometimes have a less human appearance, such as having skin, hair or eye color and design that no human has, such as having different color or design in sclera, pupil or iris. The skin will sometimes have naturally occurring symbols and markings on it, a feature most common to the ISOs. It soon starts hacking and stealing programs and code from military, government and bank mainframes from around the world.
Alan Bradley , programmer of the security program Tron, finds out about Flynn's hacking attempt which caused the MCP to deny Alan access to Tron as a security precaution and reluctantly decides to help Flynn hack into ENCOM's mainframe by using his girlfriend Lora's direct terminal.
Flynn starts to hack into the terminal when the MCP discovers Flynn and shoots him with Lora's experimental digitizing gun. Flynn gets digitized and is transported into cyberspace, where he meets Tron, a prisoner of the MCP. The MCP forces all computer programs that believe in the users to play gladiator video games based off Flynn's own video games until they derezz.
Using his identity disk, Tron destroys the MCP and ends its reign of tyrannical rule. ENCOM becomes the largest video game company in the world. Flynn never tells Alan or Lora about his experience in the cyberspace and keeps it a secret.
The game is basically a recreation of his adventure on the game grid. Flynn also starts calling Alan "Tron" as a nickname. Later in '82, Flynn gets married to Jordan Canas and they have a son named Sam. Alan Bradley becomes Sam's godfather. Sadly, Flynn's wife dies in an accident in September During this time, Kevin secretly devotes his time to creating a utopia inside cyberspace. He redesigns his video game vehicles such as the lightcycle and recognizers and utilizes them in his world.
After searching for Kevin, he was presumed dead and Sam lived with his grandparents until he was an adult. Community Showcase More. Follow TV Tropes. You need to login to do this. And our spirit remains in every program we designed for this computer. Flynn: [while driving the recognizer] Pretty good driving, huh? Flynn: I never should have written all those tank programs. Flynn: Now that is a big door! Ram: You're a Flynn: Pretty good driving, huh?
Flynn: Who asked you? Tron: If you are a User, then everything you've done has been according to a plan. Flynn: Heh heh, you wish! You guys know what it's like Tron: That's the way it is for programs , yes.
