I don't care if it's personal. I just know I want to win the game against LA. If he's going to play like that, I just have to adjust. It's hard to disagree, and I'm very thankful for it. Ever since the Wizards' demise and Stevenson's trade to the Mavericks, we've needed someone to step in and fill the void for one-sided catfights. So we should all thank Vujacic, because you know he's the one that started this. Catching wind of this feud means we have to reconsider everything we think we know about foreign imports to the NBA.
I've always kind of assumed that Hedo Turkoglu notes and Mehmet Okur notes spent a lot of time in Turkish nightclubs together, just dancing and having a great time. If that's not true, I'm not sure what I'll do. That's depressing just to think about.
Stephen Curry surpassed Ray Allen's record in fewer games. Brown revealed on Instagram on Friday night he nearly attempted suicide last year. Scottie Barnes has already made a fan out of Charles Barkley. Scottie Pippen said he was a better teammate than Michael Jordan. In Game Four, the Suns scored 26 points during Dragic's stint as point guard in the second quarter. Dragic scored two points, but had four assists during that run and pushed the tempo.
Sasha did more than just slow him down. He dominated Dragic. With Vujacic guarding Dragic, the Suns scored four points and had five turnovers during the first five minutes of the second quarter. Dragic exited the game two minutes earlier than he did in Game Three. Dragic finished the game with a team-worst minus-seven. Vujacic finished with a modest plus-six.
And against the Lakers , he had the famous run-ins with Sasha Vujacic and the ankle-breaking drive through traffic to help seal a home win. But only twice in the playoffs did he get more than 20 minutes on the court, not with Steve Nash driven to play through obvious pain to carry the Suns to the NBA Finals. Before the season started, I wrote an article warning that fans and media would expect too much from Dragic after the last memories of He was still Nash's backup, still destined for only 15 minutes a game.
And still only an NBA baby. Predictably, to me, Dragic struggled in He was one of the worst NBA players in that season - partly due to a lesser surrounding cast on the second unit, but mostly due to his own play. I applauded this move. I saw regression in Dragic's third season and wondered if he could ever run a team consistently. I was looking past the here and now, and toward the post-Nash future. Brooks had a record as a starter, had shown the ability to score against anyone and had done it successfully in the playoffs.
I expected a lot from Nash's backup when Brooks showed up. We all know how that turned out for the Suns and Brooks. It was the best thing to happen to me.
I don't have hard feelings of any guys. That's why I come back. I like it here and I have a bright future. If Dragic had stayed in Phoenix, we wouldn't know if he could be the long-term starter because Nash never sat out for extended periods of time. The front office would likely have signed a different point guard this offseason to compete with Dragic, and probably for a bigger contract.
